ABU DHABI – The UAE Air Force responded to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) detected over the country’s territorial waters as it approached from Iran, the Ministry of Defence said on Monday.

It also denied media reports claiming that Al Menhad Air Base was targeted by missiles, confirming that such reports are false.

The ministry said the UAE Armed Forces remain on a high state of readiness to deal with any potential threats and protect the country’s security.

It added that air defence systems are operating around the clock to monitor the UAE’s airspace and respond to any developments.

The Ministry of Defence also called on the public to obtain information exclusively from official sources and avoid sharing rumours or inaccurate reports.

The announcement comes as UAE authorities continue to maintain heightened vigilance over the country’s airspace and territorial waters.
